Our award program is open to websites which promote purebred dogs, encourage responsible pet ownership and breeding practices, feature canines that serve the public or that are private service dogs and are NON-profit/non-commercial in nature. Rescue organizations, animal welfare groups and shelters which place mixed-breeds and purebreds are also eligible.
Featured dogs do NOT have to have papers or be registered for websites to be considered; however, we would PREFER that they appear to be of a specific breed (exception for shelters). Participating dogs do NOT have to be "show" quality or professionally trained to do anything.
Sites promoting performance events for dogs are eligible for consideration as well, for instance: hunt sites, agility sites, obedience sites, dog clubs and 4-H organizations. These may be all-breed or breed specific.
Our goal is to reward sites that feature purebred dogs which could potentially be used by internet surfers to gain a better understanding of those breeds, perhaps before purchasing a dog, as an educational resource.
